Woa... I was late on the first day of the attachment and was so lost when i reached there even though i had went there once before the attachment. Then at the hall, we were given a briefing on mental health and i think most of us had fallen asleep in between the talk. After that we were given time to have food, afterwhich we were taken around the place to explore...
We were shown the normal ward, forensic ward which contained criminals with mental problems, the seclusion room, A&E etc... Everything was so fascinating to us....
Finally we went to our assigned ward and we had to pass three locked doors before we reached our nurses' station...
In this first week i had saw 3 crises that needed the crisis team to be called to restrain the patients... I was shocked upon seeing the first crisis cause the patient was overturning chairs, tables, banging here and there... Finally she was calmed down by restrainers and medications... @_@ What a relief @_@
